Based on the true story of an ultra-marathon runner, Extraordinary needed grand visual spectacle that matched this bigger-than-life story.
Cloudland was brought on to create all the visual spectacle that this story needed. Our work ranged from full-CG creature and environment work, to painting out unwanted elements, to compositing entire scenes requiring greenscreen replacements.
We opened and closed the movie with slow zooms from space to Earth to ground level. We created a CG Turkey Vulture that required hair & feather grooming, rigging, and animation. We used CG crowd simulation to extend the crowd size for the final finish-line scene.
All in all, Cloudland created 75 VFX shots to help tell this story of epic proportions.
